Introducing Kelly Lancarte

This week on La Vida Mas Bella,

My Mom and I are excited about collaborating on my blog this fall season. But, first I wanted you to get to know Kelly. She is a single mom to me and my two brothers and our three furry friends Zoey, Lola and Pax. She works full time for her family business. She is a stroke survivor and battles with Lupus every single day. I asked her to fill out a little questionnaire to let you have a little insight into the awesomeness that is my mother.

Beach or mountains?

Beach.

What’s your favorite breakfast?

Avocado toast and two eggs over medium.

What is your favorite movie?

Casablanca and Gilda with Rita Hayworth.

What gets your out of bed?

A Golden Retriever, A Yorkie and an Austrailian Shepherd!  

How do you unwind?

Listening to great music.

Favorite place in the world?

Give me an ocean and I am in heaven! 

What are you reading right now?

More Than Enough by Elaine Welteroth.

What is a song that you are currently obsessed with right now?

Stay by Abraham Alexander. 

Favorite flowers on earth?

Peonies and orchids. 

What is the one thing missing in your life right now?

Jason Momoa!!!

What’s the best thing about being a mom?

My three awesome kids Kent, Isabella and Paul! 

What’s the hardest part about being a mom?

Time seems to be going by so fast and I wish it would slow down.

What encouragement would you give to single moms?

Find a good group of women to be on the journey with you.  I could not have gotten through the challenging times of life without my Girl Gang. 

What TV shows are you watching right now?

Big Little Lies and Yellowstone.

What do you want more people to be discussing today?

Equal pay for women!

My Great Grandmothers rosary.

What is your favorite thing to cook?

Tacos and avocado salsa. 

If you could raid one woman’s closet who would it be?

.Amal Clooney even though I much more voluptuous than she is. 

What is the best compliment you have ever received?

“You have the most kind-hearted children.” 

Scariest thing you have ever done?

Riding in a hot air balloon in Jackson Hole. 

Where are you dying to go to?

The Maldives.

Favorite musical?

Wicked. 

Growing up, who was your celebrity crush?

Johnny Depp in 21 Jump Street!

Jason Momoa….oh hello Aquaman! 

What is your favorite season?

All things Fall...but real Fall not Texas Fall.

What are three items you always carry in your purse?

Dior Lipgloss, Skratch Hydration packet, Altoid mints. 

If you were going to shoot a documentary, what would it be about?

It would be about my Great Grandmother, Jessie “Mamasues” Garcia. She was an immigrant from Michoacan, Mexico who came to the United States in the early 1920’s and created a business that still stands today.

Favorite Superhero?

Dr. Strange and Iron Man.

Favorite drink at Starbucks?

Matcha Green Tea Latte with coconut milk.

What’s one cause dear to your heart? 

Fighting against sex and human trafficking.

Do you have any beauty secrets? 

Sakara Beauty Water is a must! 

Favorite workout?

Swimming.

How do you stay motivated?

Last summer I was talking to trainer, athlete and owner of EnduraLab, Lee Hargrave.  He said it is not about being motivated but it is about being disciplined. I have held on to this advice because he is right.  We can lose our motivation but if we create a discipline it is much easier to maintain motivation.
