January Playlist

“Music and water are the two things you can’t live without.”
— Quincy Jones

Honestly, true. That’s all I have to say. It’s cliche to say music has always been a huge part of my life but I literally have no other way to say it. My mom put me in dance classes when I was three-years old then in musical theater when I was six and by the time I was seven I was in vocal lessons. I haven’t pressed pause since. Music has been one of the most consistent factors of my life, which is a blessing considering my life feels like it’s all over the place most of the time. Some people assume by my social media that my life is “picture perfect." That could not be further from the truth. Social media only allows a small glimpse at the glittery, pretty parts of life - not the harsh realities that we all face day in and day out. Throughout these struggles, I have found ways to use music to pick myself back up and keep going. Using music to cope has allowed me to grow not only in my spirit but also in my creativity. I find that the more I learn about music, the more creative I become.

At the end of each month, I’ll be posting a playlist with some of my recent finds. Let me know what you like to listen to in the comments below! I’m always in desperate need of some new tunes.
